HSPT in Detroit 2026: dates, deadlines and test sites
Archdiocese of Detroit high schools give the HSPT on Saturdays, November 7, November 21 and December 5, 2026. Online registration for November 7 closes on November 5 at 11:59 p.m. Central; the fee is $50. Detroit-area Catholic high schools share one registration page run by Scholastic Testing Service (STS), the publisher of the HSPT. The facts below were read from the STS Detroit registration page and the University of Detroit Jesuit page on October 29, 2026. Dates can change, so confirm on the source before you plan travel.
Closing soon: November 7 registration closes November 5
If your child will test on Saturday, November 7, register online by Thursday, November 5, 11:59 p.m. Central. After that, the STS page says to call the admissions office of your test site. The next days are November 21 (register by November 19) and December 5 (register by December 3).

How it works, from the STS and school pages
- Register online and pay $50 by card at the end of registration.
- Once only. A student may take the HSPT one time.
- Arrive early. Most testing centers start at 8 a.m.; the page says to arrive at least 15 minutes before.
- Results by email about 3 to 4 weeks after the test.
- Accommodations: students with an IEP, 504 plan or building plan send documents to the test site at least two weeks before the test date.
- Not every school needs it: Loyola High School (Detroit) and Our Lady of the Lakes (Waterford) do not require the HSPT.
University of Detroit Jesuit also lists January 9, 2027 on its own page; that date is not on the STS page, so ask the school before relying on it.
What to do in the weeks before your date
Count back from your test day. This is our own plan, not STS's:
- Under two weeks (November 7): one full timed test, then daily 20-minute sessions on the one or two weakest skills, and an early night before the test day.
- Two to three weeks (November 21): one full timed test, a week of short daily practice on the weakest section (see the Verbal, Quantitative, Reading, Mathematics and Language guides), then a second full test. The preparation guide has a day-by-day two-week plan.
- Four weeks or more (December 5): take one full timed test now, then follow the 4-week study plan.

When is the HSPT in Detroit in 2026?
The Scholastic Testing Service (STS) registration page for the Archdiocese of Detroit lists Saturday, November 7, Saturday, November 21 and Saturday, December 5, 2026. Registration closes two days before each: November 5, November 19 and December 3, at 11:59 p.m. Central.
How much is the HSPT in Detroit and how do I register?
