HSPT practice test PDF: what exists, and what we offer
STS, the HSPT publisher, offers no practice test PDF to families, and any PDF that claims to hold real HSPT questions is not from STS. Our free full-length HSPT practice test (298 questions in five timed sections) is online, not a PDF. A printable paper version of every one of our tests, with a bubble answer sheet, comes with HSPT Full Prep ($69).

What exists, and what does not
- No practice PDF from STS for families. STS says it does not publish any HSPT prep material and never sells the HSPT to test-preparation agencies or publishers.
- The Pre-HSPT is STS's seventh-grade edition, leased to high schools, which some use as a practice test for applicants. It is the only practice STS endorses. Ask your target school whether it offers one.
- A preview sample can be requested from STS by high schools only.
- "Real HSPT" PDFs passed around online are not from STS. The HSPT is a secure test with a new form every year, returned after testing.
What we offer
Free, online: one full-length HSPT practice test, every question written by us: 298 questions in Verbal Skills, Quantitative Skills, Reading, Mathematics and Language, each section on its own clock. When it ends you see the score of each section and each skill, and the explanations for the first 10 questions of each section. No email, no sign-up.
With HSPT Full Prep ($69): a printable paper version of every one of our four tests, each with a bubble answer sheet to fill in with a pencil, as on test day. Your child takes it on paper with a timer, the way the real morning goes. Full Prep also has the skill trainer, the 500-word HSPT vocabulary list, the math formulas and grammar rules cheat sheets, and a day-by-day plan to your test date.
Why the paper habit matters
The standard HSPT is a paper booklet with a bubble answer sheet and a #2 pencil. Two small things cost points on paper and never online: bubbling an answer on the wrong line after a skipped question, and losing seconds moving between booklet and sheet. STS's own tips include checking that the answer sheet lines up. One practice test on paper is enough to build that habit.
